This is a very rare Arts and Crafts beaten pewter and abelone (or mother of pearl) mirror retailed by Liberty & Co, This piece is a classic and well documented Liberty & Co shape, usually appearing in copper with a tulip up each side. This model is very rare in pewter. I have had pewter mirrors with abelone butterflies before, but never a stylised snail and peacock feather. This mirror is also unusual and displays beautifully. It has its original bevelled mirror plate, which has some silvering loss. It is unmarked and has no ivorine label, which sometimes they have. It measures 68cm in length, 43.5cm wide and 2cm deep. It is a superb piece of Arts and Crafts
