This is a fantastic Brutalist iron abstract figural sculpture by June Barrington Ward (1922 - 2002) depicting a stylised head of mask. She trained at the Chelsea School of Art and widely exhibited her work during the 1960s and 1970s, before arriving to Cornwall to retire and continue to sculpt. This piece is well conceived and executed. It came from the sale of her estate so comes with solid provenance. It is so decorative and strong. On the base it measures 37cm tall (33cm off the base) and 27cm wide. It is in good condition and displays very well.
