This is a fantastic Arthur Simpson of Kendal large Cuban mahogany carved sideboard or display cabinet. It is such a functional and attractive piece, the construction and carving is of the highest quality. It retains it's original label to the interior declaring it to be a Hubert Simpson design executed by four craftsman all listed. The label says that it was completed in April 1937. It is our feeling that this was an earlier piece started by Arthur and for whatever reason was not completed until Hubert later picked it up and completed it. Either way it is a great example. It measures 189.5cm tall, 195cm wide, 24cm deep to the top and 46cm deep to the base. There is a slither/chip to the breakfront edge and two small triangular pieces of wood missing to the base at each side, due to the piece likely being dragged during its lifetime.
