This is an early and interesting Brian Bradshaw (1923-2016) oil on board figural study of a woman (probably his wife) getting dressed. It has an original chalk mark “Crane” to the reverse of the board. This denotes that this piece was intended for exhibition at The Crane Gallery in Manchester in 1955, which was his first solo Exhibition. This makes this quite an important work. He had only really been painting in oil since 1953 so this is early for him in his development. I think it is quite successful. We have chosen a Victorian frame to surround this piece. It is signed twice and in good condition. The image measures 74cm x 53cm and framed 103cm x 92cm.
