This is a superb Arts and Crafts beaten copper and brass coal box designed by Arthur Stansfeld Dixon and made at the Birmingham Guild of Handicrafts. This is a very rare model as the base usually appears as a jardiniere. This piece is one of the very few to surface with its original lid, perhaps not many were made. It is fully marked to the base and measures 41cm tall and 48cm wide. It is in very good condition.
