This is a superb Bretby Pottery reticulated bird vase which is very much in the style of work produced for Linthorpe by Christopher Dresser. This is one of the most unusual pieces of Bretby I've seen, the glaze is magnificent, almost flambe high fired. This is an early piece with a shape number of 171. It measures 15.5cm tall and 15cm in diameter. It is fully marked to the base and in excellent condition. It really is a wonderful piece.
