This is a very good early Brian Bradshaw (1923-2016) pen and ink drawing depicting a farm worker dating to between 1948 and 1950. It was most likely executed in Austria where he was known to have worked on a farm for a while after he had completed his Prix De Rome Scholarship in 1947. He went on a tour around Europe and experienced different things. This piece is extremely well executed and his drawing shows a direct link to his immense talent as an engraver. He was particularly drawn to and good at Realist images of everyday life, which he found beautiful. It is fully signed and is in good condition, there is some minor staining to the paper. This work displays very well.
