This is a fantastic pair of Arts and Crafts pottery 'Flower and Leaf' tiles designed by C.F.A Voysey, circa 1893 for J C Edwards of Ruabon. This is an early Voysey design which was later revised slightly and produced by Pilkingtons. The colours are subtle and the moulding / casting has depth. They are so pure and very typical of his work during the Arts and Crafts movement. These tiles are quite rare and seldom surface. These have the factoyr moulded marks to the reverse. They are in good condition. There are some nibbles to the edges of the tiles - they have been framed in a sympathetic modern oak frame. Framed they measure 36.5cm x 21cm.
