William Newland Studio Pottery Large Picassoettes Plate, SOLD

This is a fantastic large studio pottery charger painted by William Newland and dated 1993. William Newland was an important and influential figure in British studio pottery and was one of the Picassoettes named so by Bernard Leach. This piece dates from after he finished teaching in 1988 and began pottery again. It is really well painted and extremely decorative. It is in excellent condition and measures 36cm in length. Pieces by him are very difficult to find.
