This is an interesting and rather large Brutalist tile panel, made completely by hand by Christopher S. Aston. The reverse has a pencil inscription - Christopher S. Aston, 1969, Bawtoy, Yorkshire. Sadly, I have not been able to find anything out about this chap. It is such a dynamic piece which perfectly personifies the period. It depicts skeletal robot type figures in high relief laid onto a hessian backing. I've never seen anything like this before. It is in good condition, the panel measures 81.5cm x 32cm and framed 93cm x 38cm.
