This is stunning late 19th to early 20th century needlework embroidery, very much in the style of the Glasgow School. It is extremely attractive and is a pleasing composition with the dark haired maiden in medieval attire stood amidst flag iris and fruiting trees. The quality in the needlework is exquisite and the colours are still bright, vibrant and unfaded. It retains its original oak frame and has a script address to the reverse, which is assumed the original embroider. The needlework itself measures 33.5cm x 43cm and framed 41cm x 50cm.
