Cotswold School Walnut Cabinet, manner of Peter Waals, circa 1930s, SOLD

This is a superb quality Cotswold School walnut medicine cabinet dating to around 1930. Whilst we have no evidence, and can only offer our opinion, this piece is very much in the manner of Peter Waals. It is made from selected choice pieces of timber. It has exposed dovetails, through tenons and fox wedges. The plinth is attached by adjustable blocks to allow for movement during temperature change. The door and drawer front have fielded panels and the back is as well made as the front as can be seen in the images. It is unsigned but is clearly made by a very skilled hand. It measures 46cm tall, 31.5cm wide and 18cm deep. Its in very good condition.
