This is a scarce Della Robbia pottery mantle clock decorated with cherubs and foliage, dating to circa 1903. Made in Birkenhead, this clock has a moulded case with has then been painted by hand. This example retains its original movement, pendulum, key and is in working order. There is a different colourway of this same example housed in the Walker Art Gallery. There is minor fritting to the extremities. It measures 28cm x 27.5cm x 15.5cm. A wonderful object.
